Dorothy Burns Obituary

Dorothy "Dot" Garside Burns, died peacefully on Friday December 21, 2012 at the age of 91 at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, PA, formerly of Narberth and Ardmore, PA She was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 1921, in Roxborough, PA to the late Joseph & Ida Mae Garside. She graduated from Roxborough High School and was employed by the Welcome Wagon and Narberth Library. Dot's many interests included Reading, Ceramics, hosting family and friends. She was a Founding Member and 50 year member of Narberth Ambulance. Other memberships included Order of the Eastern Star, Worthy Matron; and several other charitable and fraternal organizations. She was the wife of the late Clyde O. Burns; and sister of the late Joseph and Ethel. She is survived by her twin sister, Irma Garside. Dot was the beloved Mother of Jerryldeane "Jerri" Burns Gray of Narberth, PA, Stephen E. Burns(Luci) Burns of Malvern, PA and the late Richard Burns (Marina) of Coatesville, PA.; also survived by 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Her Viewing and Funeral Service was private for the family in the Chadwick & McKinney Funeral Home, Ardmore, followed by her burial in Valley Forge Gardens, Office of Gift Planning, Masonic Village at Elizabethtown One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown PA 17022 www.chadwickmckinney.com
