Edward Bogsian Obituary

Edward G. Bogosian 82, passed away on May 11, 2013 at his home in Villanova, PA after battling bone cancer for several years. Edward was born in Philadelphia to Sarkis and Sirarpi Bogosian. Edward grew up in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from John Bartram High School. After high school he moved to California and worked for Paramount Studios. Soon after, he enlisted in the Navy serving four years. He then returned to Philadelphia, attended Temple University, and graduated with degrees in marketing and statistics. Edward worked for Botany 500, Rudd Miliken and Villanova University before deciding to purchase the family business from his father, who established The Camera Shop, in 1920. Edward grew the business over the years with several locations, finally, settling in its current location in Bryn Mawr. After Edward's retirement in 1997 the reins were passed to his wife Kathy and daughter Michelle The Camera Shop remains the oldest family run photographic business in Pennsylvania. Edward was extremely involved in the community. He was president of the Havertown Rotary Club, a Gundaker and Paul Harris Fellow. He was president of The Bryn Mawr Business Association, on the board of the Main Line Chamber of Commerce, and chairman of the Radnor Haverford-Marple Sewer Authority. Edward was instrumental in the promotion of all business in Bryn Mawr and, ultimately, the betterment of the community. Edward is survived by his wife, Kathy, daughter, Michelle Bogosian, and granddaughter, Emma Heckmann, all of Villanova, PA. The Memorial service was held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church, 625 Montgomery Avenue, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the above named church.
