Edwin Henry Obituary

Edwin S Henry, Esq. (Bud) 88, a Purple Heart veteran of WWII, died peacefully on December 13,2012. He was raised in Narberth and resided in Berwyn for many years. He graduated from George Washington University and Washington, D.C. with a BA and a Law Degree and was a partner in Saul, Ewing, Remick and Saul in the Estates and Trust department. A man of many interests, he enjoyed hunting, fishing,and boating, playing tennis and raquetball. He was a linesman and umpire for the U S Pro Indoor Tennis at the Spectrum in the late 70's and early 80's. He enjoyed music of all kinds, was a member and past president of the Musical Fund Society, and loved singing bass for the Suburban Squires for 25 years. He was a long time Judge of Elections for TE township and was an original member of the board of the Upper Main Line YMCA. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Nancy (Millard) of Newtown Square;3 children,Nancy Hale (Glen)of Bartlesville OK, Susan Dargay (John) of Bordentown, NJ,Sally Garber(Ken) of Plano, Tx;3 stepchildren, Elizabeth Helker (Chris) of Newtown Square, Robert Hompe of Kannapolis, NC and William Hompe (Lisa) of Berwyn; his sister Elizabeth Junkin Appleby of Wilmington, NC; 13 grandchildren and one great granddaughter A memorial service will be held at 11AM on January 12th in the Old Church at St David's Episcopal Church, 763 South Valley Forge Rd, Wayne, PA In lieu of flowers, donations in Bud's name may be made to World Wildlife Fund #71994834 (http://world wildlife.org) or the Upper Main Line YMCA, Att: Charles Weibanz,1416 Berwyn Paoli Rd. Berwyn. PA 19312, or a charity of your choice.
