Eleanor Tate (nee Hibbs), 84 of Berwyn, PA passed away on September 15, 2012. Born July 1928 in Camden, NJ, she was the daughter of William and Catherine Hibbs, both deceased. She was one of seven children, all of whom preceded Eleanor in death. Eleanor was the loving wife of John G. Tate, Sr. since August 1952. He preceded her in death in October 2006. Along with John, Sr., she was the co-proprietor of the Devon Pharmacy for 30 years, where they proudly served and loved the community until retirement in 1994. Eleanor enjoyed cooking, watching the Flyers, Phillies, and Eagles, traveling to Hawaii when she could, spoiling her grandchildren, and entertaining friends. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Strafford. She is survived by her beloved children Marie and her husband, Lyndsey Walling of Harrisburg, PA and John G. Tate, Jr. and his wife Pamela C. of Atlanta, GA.; her dear grandchildren, Lauren Walling of Harrisburg, PA, James G. and Eric Tate of Atlanta, GA. Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing Thursday 10:00-11:00 AM in the chapel at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 35 Old Eagle School Road, Strafford, PA 19087 and to her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.
