Emilie DeS Atlee

Emilie DeS. Atlee age 97, of Narberth, PA and formerly of Ardmore, PA, passed away on April 3, 2013. Beloved wife of the late S. John Atlee. Loving mother of Robert Atlee of Nantucket, MA and Elizabeth ( Joseph ) Carapico of Narberth, PA. Cherished grandmother of Christine, Holly, and Christopher, and great-grandmother of Neva and Keegan. Dear sister of Peggy Hursh of Mifflinburg, PA. Emilie was happily married for 53 years to John Atlee and they resided in Ardmore, PA. She was a celebrated portrait artist and member of Artist's Equity and Philadelphia Water Color Society. She taught for over 20 years at Main Line Center of the Arts in Haverford, PA. She was well known in artists' communities in Rockport, MA, Monhegan Island, ME, Nantucket , MA, Philadelphia Orchestra, and historical Philadelphia area. She was a friend to many and will be missed by many. Life Celebration services were held on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 11 AM in Washington Memorial Chapel at Valley Forge National Park, Valley Forge Rd., Valley Forge, PA 19481. Interment Valley Forge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers a donation in Emilie's name may be made to Center for Advancement Cancer Education(CACE), 300 E. Lancaster Ave., Wynnewood, PA 19096.
