John Shipley Dixon Jr.

John Shipley Dixon, Jr. Died peacefully on Dec. 22, 2012 at Beaumont at Bryn Mawr, PA After a brief illness. He was born Dec. 18, 1913 in Rosemont, PA, son of Mabel Bayard Norris and J. Shipley Dixon Sr. Their son John attended The Episcopal Academy, Lower Merion, Pa; St. George's School, Newport, RI.; and the University of Pennsylvania. John was a Second Lieutenant in the 166th Field Artillery during World War II with the First Troop, Philadelphia City Calvary. He was past president of National Foam System and Vice President of Philadelphia Suburban Corporation. He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Mary Elizabeth Boyd who passed away in 1998. John is survived by his daughter, Fisher( Dixie ) Chapman and her husband Robert, of Berwyn, PA; grandchildren James A.B. ( Mayela ) of Missouri City, TX, , John D. ( April )of Blue Hill, ME, and four great grand children; Sarah, Tyler, Alexander and Evan. A Memorial service is planned at the Church of the Redeemer on April 6th at 2:00 PM.
