Linda Northrop Obituary

Linda Nutt Northrop On Sunday, October 13, 2013 Linda Nutt Northrop, 60, of Greenwich, CT, died surrounded by her loving family at home after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Linda, born May 20, 1953, grew up in Wallingford, PA. She was the daughter of Margaret (Migs) Morris Nutt of Haverford, PA and the late James N. Nutt, Jr. She graduated from The Agnes Irwin School in Rosemont, PA and Randolph-Macon Woman's College in Lynchburg, VA, where she was President of her senior class. She worked as a paralegal and later as Director of the Paralegal Program at Pepper, Hamilton & Scheetz in Philadelphia and at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft in New York City. As a mother, Linda was an active volunteer at the Greenwich Country Day School, Greenwich Academy, Brunswick School, and Meals on Wheels of Greenwich. She was a member of the Junior League and The Greenwich Garden Club. In addition to her mother, Linda is survived by her loving and devoted family: Richard R.S. Northrop, husband of 38 years; her three children Heather Daniell Northrop, Virginia (Ginger) Morris Northrop, and Kent Johnston Northrop; her siblings James N. Nutt III, M.D. of Blue Bell, PA, and Nancy Nutt Schiffer, of West Chester, PA. She is also survived by her wonderful nephews and grand-nephews. A memorial service will be held at Christ Church in Greenwich, CT on Saturday, October 19th at 11am. Linda will be dearly missed by her family, their sweet golden retriever, Oakley, and her many friends. Her loving spirit will sustain us and she will remain in our hearts forever. In lieu of flowers, Linda's wish was for donations to be made to The Greenwich Country Day School, 401 Old Church Road, Greenwich, CT, 06830, where a memorial fund is being established in her name. GCDS was a community she cherished as a parent for 15 years.

I worked with Linda at Cadwalader and liked her so much. We kept in touch for a while after I left but of course life moves us along. I thought of her tonight and this is what I found when I googled. I am so sad! What a good person she was and I wish she could've lived to be 90.
