Marie Shuman

Marie (Falsone) Shuman of Haverford, PA, formerly of Narbeth, PA, joined her beloved husband, Richard Shuman M.D., in eternal rest on December 26, 2012, aged 94 years. She was born in Buffalo, New York, on June 23, 1918, a daughter of the late Mariano and Carrie (Ippolito) Falsone. Marie graduated from Hutchinson High School in Buffalo and was an accomplished women's clothing fashion merchandiser and retail store manager prior to her marriage to Dr. Shuman. Marie will be most remembered for her keen mind, intense sense of independence, flair for life, and unwavering love of family and friends. She was dedicated to her husband and his passion for excellence in his chosen specialty of pathology. In keeping with her lifelong dedication to maintaining the legacy of her late husband, Marie requested that donations in her memory be made to the Drexel University Richard Shuman Award for Excellence in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, c/o Drexel University College of Medicine, PO Box 8235, Philadelphia, PA 19101-9685. Marie is survived by a sister-in-law, Louise Falsone of Buffalo, NY, numerous nieces and nephews, and her devoted friend Rita Donahue of Narbeth, PA. She was the sister of the late Angeline M. Giambra and Anthony S. Falsone, and sister-in-law of the late Thomas S. Giambra, Lee Levine, Rae Levine, Theodore P. Levine and Sam Levine. Mrs. Shuman's graveside service was held on Sunday, December 30 at Temple Beth El Cemetery, Chelmsford, at 11:00 AM. Please omit flowers.
