Mary Jean Davies

Mary Jean Davies, of Exton, formerly of Devon, passed away peacefully at Neighborhood Hospice West Chester on Thursday May 16, 2013. She was the loving wife of David B. Davies with whom she shared 60 years of marriage at the time of his passing in 2010. Born on January 7, 1933 in Tamaqua, PA, she was the youngest daughter of the late Thomas and Jane Johnson. She was sister to the late Arthur Johnson of Ocean City, NJ and to Katherine Graves of Chatham, CA who resides there with her adult children and families. Mary Jean, also known as Dusty, was a homemaker, devoted mother and grandmother. She was a former member of the Wayne Presbyterian Church and Junior Service Board. She volunteered at Paoli Hospital and participated in the Wessex House Bible Study and Caring group. She will be remembered for her love of books, passion for learning, and her unconditional love for her family. Her beautiful smile will be lovingly missed by her children and grandchildren. Mary Jean is survived by her children, David of Greenville, SC, Thomas (Deborah) of Fairfax Station, VA, Sheryl Marusic (Steven) of Cochranville, PA, Susan Koehler (Philip) of West Chester, PA and Robert of Bridgeton, NJ. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A combined memorial service for both Mary Jean and her husband David will follow at 4 p.m. Interment will be private.
