Mary Mulford Obituary

Mary Jane Wells Mulford of Newtown Square, PA, 94, formerly of Devon and Ardmore passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Philadelphia on September 7, 1917 to Clarence V. and Alice Flint Williams. She was the wife of the late David H. Wells and William Mulford and the beloved mother of Joanne A. Henderson of West Chester and Patricia A. Hedrick (Wellington) of Doylestown. She was the Grandmother of Sharon L. McHugh, Pamela J. Edwards, David W. Hedrick, Amy M. Sacco, and Clare H. Romig, and the Great Grandmother of 11. She was the sister of Ruth A. Reider of Lincoln, MA, and the late Margaret W. Boone. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a teaching degree and taught for a short period of time. Her life was devoted to her family as a homemaker. She enjoyed her membership in the Saturday Club of Wayne and the Merion Cricket Club for many years, and was an avid bridge player and an active member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Ardmore. Mary "Jane" will be sorely missed by her family who loved her dearly and will live in their hearts forever. Family and friends may call from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M., Monday, May 14, 2012 at The Stuard Funeral Home, 104 Cricket Avenue, Ardmore, PA 19003, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 Noon at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 36 Ardmore Avenue, Ardmore, PA 19003. Internment will be at Westminster Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to The American Cancer Society or to St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Ardmore, PA.
