Robert E. Damiano

Robert E. Damiano, M.D. age 83 of Schwenksville, PA, formerly a long time resident of Devon, PA, died on Thursday, March 21, 2013. Robert was born on October 20, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Maurice and Rose Olivero Damiano. Robert's education and Fraternity memberships included Cranbrook School, Bloomfield Hills, MI, Diploma, cum laude, 1947 B.S. in Pharmacy, University of Michigan, 1951 (Regents-Alumni Scholarship) M.D., cum laude, University of Michigan, 1960; (Alpha Omega Alpha Honorary Medical Fraternity). He was a veteran of USAF, Pharmacy Technician from September 1951-September 1953. As a physician, he worked for Upjohn Co., Bristol Laboratories, Ypsilanti ER Physicians, ER Physician at Syracuse Memorial Hospital, Wyeth Laboratories, and retired from Merck Research Labs as Senior Director of Epidemiology. Robert's hobbies were spending time with family, traveling (favorite places: Siesta Key, FL, Italy, Alaska, Michigan, Inlet, NY - Adirondacks), passion for gardening, reading and history. He was also a long-time member of St. John's Presbyterian Church in Devon, PA and the American Medical Association. SURVIVORS: Husband of Henrietta M. (Allspach) Damiano, R. N; Son: Michael D. Damiano, M.D. married to Susan M. (Keyek) Damiano; grandchildren Kristin and Stephen Damiano Daughter: Deborah A. D. Arbo, R.N.C. married to James R. Arbo; grandchild: Megan Arbo Daughter: Diane S. D. Hanlon married to Mark W. Hanlon, VMD; grandchildren: Abigail, Timothy and Christopher Hanlon; Sister: Mary (Damiano) Reilly, Brother in Law: Jerome Reilly (Deceased) Brother: Maurice Damiano, Sister in Law: Lore Damiano Brother: Frank Damiano (Deceased), Sister in Law: Sheila Damiano (Deceased) SERVICES: Relatives and friends are invited to attend Robert's life celebration service on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 11am at St. John's Presbyterian Church 217 Berkeley Road Devon, PA 19333.
