Ruth E. (Schlegal) Unger of Trappe, formerly of Berwyn and Allentown, died September 22 at her daughter's home in Trappe. Mrs. Unger was born in Allentown on August 6, 1930, a daughter of the late William and Mamie (Fenstermacher) Schlegal. She was 82. Formerly an executive secretary at Branch Motors in Allentown, PA., Ruth became a homemaker and mother after marriage to the late Lou Unger. Always putting family first, she loved cooking and baking for family, friends, and church events. After relocating from Allentown to the Main Line, Ruth began working as a bookkeeper at C. Allen Envelope Corp., her husband's envelope manufacturing company in Berwyn. She was happy to "retire" from that position as the company grew and focused her energies once again on her children and grandchildren. A charter member of Fairview Village Church of the Nazarene, Ruth was always an active member of the choir, Bible study groups, Sunday School, and Bible School, as well as hosting and volunteering at many church-centered social events. A warm and generous person, she extended that "family feeling" to those well beyond her biological family. In more recent years, Ruth was co-owner of Ponderosa Campground in Kissimmee, Florida, along with her husband. Ruth was often seen surrounded by some or all of her adoring grandchildren, who hope to maintain her warm legacy and carry on the many traditions she created and maintained., Mrs. Unger is survived by her children Bonnie Schubert (Gary) of Millerstown, PA, and Donna Unger of Trappe. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren; Nathan, Trevor, Libby, Isabel, Dieter, Tyler, Seneca, Caitlin Ruth, and Marnie Lou, and by her great-grandchildren; Logan, Ethan, Brenna, Azriel, Oran, Dean, and Stella Ruth. She was the sister of William Brown, Larry Brown, Lloyd Brown, Jr., Rickey Brown, Kevin Brown, and the late Gerald Brown. A Memorial Service will be held on November 3, 11 AM at the Fairview Village Church of the Nazarene, 3044 W. Germantown Pike, Eagleville, PA 19403. Contributions in Mrs. Unger's memory may be made to the , 1626 Locust St., Phila., PA 19103. Condolences may be expressed at www.ruggierofh.com<http://www.ruggierofh.com/>.
