Obituary Condolences

Sarah Jane Reed Goslin of Berwyn, PA. born August 31, 1923 in Riverton, NJ., died on November 2nd 2012. Survived by her son John T. Goslin III. She grew up on a farm in Paoli and in Wayne where she graduated from Radnor High School in 1942. Attended Georgetown Visitation College in Washington D.C. in 1947. Mrs. Goslin married John T. Goslin Jr. Early in their marriage the couple paid $25.00 a month to rent a dilapidated 200 year old stone house on an Estate in Devon. They repaired the rotting stairs and floors and installed electricity and running water. A coal stove was used for heat and cooking. Mrs. Goslin and her husband moved to Berwyn in 1957 where they renovated another 18th century home. She remained in this home until her passing. She volunteered at Winterthur and for many years at the Womans Exchange in Wayne. She worked at the Easttown Library and the Wayne Book and Record Store. She worked for 30 plus years on the election board of Easttown Township. She traveled all over the United States and in Europe, Africa and Mexico. She spent a lot of summertime in Stone Harbor, NJ. and winters in Sanibel Island Florida. She loved music, gardening and animals. She saw all the big bands at the Sunnybrook Ballroom where she met her husband. She saw a young Louis Armstrong and Elvis and later the Beach Boys and Moody Blues. She was involved for years with the Skycastle French Hounds Hunt Club. Mostly she loved people as her Radnor graduation picture quoted, "A friend to me, a friend to you, a friend to everyone she knew". Memorial service Thursday, November 29th at 10:30 A.M. at St. Monicas Church, 63 Main Ave., Berwyn, PA. 19312. All welcome.
