Clair W. Graver

Clair W. Graver, 92, of Frederick, PA, previously of King of Prussia, passed away Monday, Jan. 22, 2018 at Frederick Living. He was the husband of Mary Kathryn (Gibbel) Graver, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage on June 27th. Born in Donaldson, PA he was a son of the late Homer and Ethel (Kimmel) Graver. He was a member of Green Tree Church of the Brethren, Oaks, PA. He graduated from Tremont High School in 1943. He was an Army Veteran, having served from 1943-1945 during WWII. After being in the Army, he attended Drexel University, while continuing to work full time. He graduated with a BS in Chemical Engineering. He worked for the same company for over 40 years, retiring from Elf Atochem, previously named PA Salt Manufacturing and Pennwalt Corporation. He was named as an inventor on four U.S. Patents. He was a member of American Chemical Society. He was also an avid hunter and enjoyed being in the mountains and outdoors. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Elizabeth A., wife of William G. Borkowski, King of Prussia, Craig W. Graver, husband of Barbara J., York, Timothy J. Graver, husband of Sharon L., Cheshire, CT, and Kathryn R., wife of David L. Persing, Royersford; two sisters, Ruth Rhody, WA, and Lois Kenney, Bethel; a brother, Carl Graver, Lancaster; three grandchildren, Lauren A., wife of James P. Hazlett, Timothy J. Graver, Jr., and Rebecca H. Graver; and a great grandson, Ronan J. Hazlett. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, Jan. 27th, at Little Swatara Church of the Brethren, 31 Rehrersburg Rd., Bethel, with his pastors, the Rev. Rod O’Donnell and the Rev. Kenneth Leininger officiating. A viewing will be held from 10-11:00 AM, Saturday, at the church. Burial will be in Little Swatara Church Cemetery. Lamm & Witman Funeral Home, 243 W.
