David Spicer Obituary
David Spicer, loving husband, father and grandfather, went to be with the Lord after a 5-year battle with cancer. He died peacefully at his daughter’s home in Malvern surrounded by family. At the time of his death, he was the Minister of Music & the Arts at the First Church of Christ, Wethersfield, Connecticut. From 1982-86, he was Director of Music at the First Presbyterian Church in Lincoln, Nebraska and prior to that he was Organist-Choirmaster at the Wayne Presbyterian Church in Wayne, Pennsylvania. David was a 1968 graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia and completed graduate studies at Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary, also in Philadelphia. In 1997, he co-founded the annual Albert Schweitzer Organ Festival USA. He is survived by his wife, Dana of Wethersfield, CT, 7 children, 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the First Church of Christ, Wethersfield, Connecticut on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 11 am.
