Judith S. Murray Obituary
Judith S. Murray formerly of Wayne, PA, died on November 28, 2012 at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. Born in Bryn Mawr, PA, Judy lived with her family in Margate, NJ and Springfield, IL as a young child. She moved to Cynwyd, PA as a girl and completed her schooling there. Mrs. Murray was a proud graduate of Lower Merion High School. She attended Indiana University and Penn State University for her undergraduate degree and later earned her Master's Degree in Education. In 1960 she married Wallace A. Murray Jr. and in 1972 they moved to Wayne where they raised their two children. Mrs. Murray was an exceptional teacher who taught for 28 years in Bala Cynwyd Middle School. She was also a dedicated costume designer for school plays, which brought her great joy and deeper connection to both students and parents. Mrs. Murray's enthusiasm, positive attitude and optimism were remarkable. Always with an open door and big smile, she was greatly respected by her colleagues and friends. Traveling throughout Europe and the United States was one of her great pleasures. She brought hope and light to everyone she encountered and made a new friend every day of her life. In 1988, after 28 years of marriage, her husband passed away. In 2009, Mrs. Murray moved to Shannondell in Audubon, and in 2011 she moved to Maplewood, NJ to be closer to her family. Mrs. Murray is survived by her two children, Wallace A. Murray III and Meredith S. Del Bello, her brother, William B. Wigginton, her two sisters, Barbara W. Miller and Elizabeth W. Harrigan, and her two grandsons. A memorial service will be held at St. David's Episcopal Church, 763 S. Valley Forge Rd., Wayne, PA at 1:30pm on Friday, December 14th.
