William Robie

William (Bill) Hinckley Robie, a long-term resident of Berwyn, Pa., passed away on July 19, 2010 at age 83. He was the loving husband of Sally (nee Brown) for 60 years and the devoted father of six children: David (Ginni) of Madrid, Maine; Mark (Judy) of West Chicago, Ill.; Kevin (Nancy) of Dayton, Ohio; Anne Murray (Morris) of Defiance, Ohio; John (Judy) of Devon, Pa.; and Bob (Kris) of Paoli, Pa.
He was the dear brother of Virginia R. Cassin of Oak Park, Ill., and the son of the late Theodore ("Ted") and Maude Robie of Beloit, Wis. He was the beloved "Grandpop" of 29 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many, many nieces and nephews.
He was a Kings Point Merchant Marine Academy graduate and a World War II veteran of the United States Navy and later had a successful career in sales and marketing management for American Viscose and later FMC Corporation. In recent years, he worked for Library Services Group.
Family and friends are invited to share in the celebration of Bill's life at 11 a.m. Sept. 18, 2010 at Berwyn United Methodist Church where he had been a proud and active member for many years.
