Constance Marie "Connie" Sydnor

Obituary Condolences

On Sunday, April 4, 2010 Connie Sydnor, of Rosemont, Pa., a devoted mother and wife departed this life after a long illness. Connie was born in Philadelphia, Pa. in 1936 to the late Everett Holmes and Lydia Holmes Francis. Connie was raised by Stanford and Edith Lolley. Connie attended Radnor High School where she played field hockey. She met her loving husband George Sydnor at a dance in Wayne in the 1950's. Connie was a "homemaker" and cared for many children over the years in her home. She loved children. Connie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and loved her family. Connie was a faithful member of Bethel AME Church in Bryn Mawr until she became sick in 2001. She was a coordinator of the Youth Ushers at Bethel. Connie leaves to mourn: Daughter Wanda (Sydnor) Smith (Rev. Stan), Son's Stanford "Skip" Sydnor (Diana), George "Willie" Sydnor (Kathy), Christopher Sydnor (Angie), Chad Sydnor (Shelly), daughter Alycia Sydnor-Freidhoff (John), and Manuel "Bumper" Howard (Vanessa). Sisters: Diane Sullivan (Sully), Edith Turner, Lydia Robinson, Anita Holmes, Kathy Holmes (pre-deceased her). Grandchildren: Carlton, Nicole, Kiersten, Shelby, Brice, Lydia, Lily, Renee, Marcus, Kayleen, Aubrey, Jillian and one great grandchild Mariah. She will be missed by her family and friends. Her Services will be held at Bethel AME Church, 50 S. Merion Ave., Bryn Mawr, Pa. 19010 on Saturday, April 10, 2010, the viewing is 8-10 a.m., with the family entering at 9:30 a.m., followed by the service at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, Gulph Rd., King of Prussia, Pa.
