Joan Manley Kosinski

1930-2013 DORSET Joan Manley Kosinski, 82, a resident of Park Lane, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2013 at the Equinox Terrace in Manchester. Joan was born in Rutland, Vt. on December 15, 1930, the daughter of Howard H. and Isabelle (Bowles) Manley. She attended Rutland schools and graduated from Rutland High School. In Manchester Joan worked at Combination Cash Store, which was owned by her family, and also worked at the Fowler Insurance Agency for several years. Joan was an avid skier and instructor at Bromley Mountain. She enjoyed golf and was a long time member of the Dorset Field Club. She enjoyed gardening, hiking and fishing with her husband. While living in Amsterdam, New York Joan volunteered at St. Mary's Hospital. Joan is survived by her daughter, Donna L. Manley, of Bernardston, Mass.; brother, Richard L. Manley and his wife Mary Rita of Dorset; sister-in-law, Jean Cleary and husband Steve of Delmar, N.Y.; grandson, Alexander J. Manley-Helton; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Kosinski, Jr., who died in December, 1999. Memorial services for Joan will be held Monday, December 9, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the United Church of Dorset. Interment will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 1 p.m. in the Kosinski family lot at St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Amsterdam, New York. There are no visiting hours.
