Barbara Mae Kelleher

1921 - 2013 MANCHESTER Barbara Mae Kelleher, 92, a resident of Equinox Terrace, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013, at Equinox Terrace.

Barbara was born in Agawam, Mass., on April 16, 1921, the daughter of William and Oda (Garrow) LaMontagne. She received her education in West Springfield, Mass,, graduating from West Springfield High School and earning an Associates Degree from Baypath College.

Barbara worked as a bookkeeper for many years for Leo's Motors, then Johnson Fuel Service.

She was a member of Christ Our Savior Parish (St. Paul Catholic Church) in Manchester, and the Catholic Daughters.

She volunteered at thrift stores, was a Docent at Hildene, and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Manchester. She enjoyed making ceramics, travelling, especially Europe and through the United States, visiting family and friends.

She was a wonderful seamstress, making family clothes and also enjoyed listening to the sounds of Classical and Big Band Music.

Barbara is survived by her children, Alan Philip Kelleher of Odessa, Texas, Suzanne Kelleher of Lexington, Ken., and Karen Wilson of Odessa, Texas; her niece, Judith LaMontagne McPhail and family; nephew, Ronald LaMontagne and family; niece, Katherine Elwell Williams, five grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.

Her husband, Philip M. Kelleher, whom she married May 19, 1951, died in 1999.

She was also predeceased death by her brother, William LaMontagne.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Mass of Christian Death and Burial was celebrated Friday, June 21, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Christ Our Savior Parish, St. Paul Catholic Church in Manchester. Interment will follow in the family lot in St. Columbans Cemetery in Arlington.

If friends desire, gifts in Barbara's memory may be made to the Philip M. Kelleher VFW College Fund or the Court St. Rita Catholic Daughters, c/o Brewster & Shea Funeral Service, P.O. Box 885, Manchester Center, VT 05255.
