Frances K. Cocks

1914-2013 MANCHESTER Frances K. Cocks, 98, a resident of Barnumville, Road, passed away Monday July 22, 2013 at Equinox Terrace in Manchester.

Frances was born in Brooklyn, New York on September 28, 1914 the daughter of Frank and Mary (Grostic) Kushar and attended local schools.

Frances worked as a secretary for Port Washington Long Island, New York Public Schools for many years. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary in Port Washington and upon moving to Manchester in 1972, Frances became involved and very active with the Northshire Seniors and the Go-Getters. She served as both secretary and treasurer for the Northshire Seniors and was responsible for organizing many of their bus tours. Frances truly loved living in Manchester and resided in Manchester longer than Port Washington.

Frances is survived by cousins in Buzzard's Bay, New Jersey and Slovania and long time friends Evelyn Rode of Penants Harbor, Maine, John and Liliana Kennedy of Ocala, Florida, Jan Martelle of Manchester Center, Michelle and Kevin Cone of Sunderland, and Lois Hecht of Manchester Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Cocks whom she married in Port Washington on June 28, 1952. Mr. Cocks passed away December 24, 1991.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Mass of Christian death and burial will be celebrated Saturday July 27, 2013 at 9am at Christ Our Savior Parish (St. Paul Roman Catholic Church) in Manchester. Interment will follow in the family lot in Factory Point Cemetery in Manchester.
