Linwood W. Maginniss Obituary
Linwood W. (Scoop) Maginniss died peacefully at St. Peter's Hospice in Albany on July 14th.

Scoop was born on September 24,1938, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Scoop was educated in Tulsa Public Schools and went to the University of Tulsa and University of California at Los Angeles. He served in the United States Army 1960 - 1963.

In 1964 Scoop began a 40-year career in real estate and auctioneering. Scoop was active in Civil War preservation activities in Aldie, Virginia, a director of The Aldie Ruritan Club and Founding member of ARGAP. Scoop moved to Vermont in 2009. Scoop was a dedicated Volunteer Medicaid Driver for the Green Mountain Community Network. He also served as President of the Board of Directors at GNAT-TV (Greater Northshire Access Television).

Scoop is survived by his spouse of 54 years, Berta, and his two sons, Thomas Hobbs Maginniss and his wife Lynne of Catlett, Virginia, and Lord James Maginniss of Orlando, Florida and three grandchildren; Thomas Hobbs, Maria and Isabelle. Also, his sister, Joanne Maginniss Sellers of Fullerton, California, and Howard Pichon Maginniss, Jr. of Alexandria, Virginia and nieces/nephews; Heather, Marcus, Terry, Kevin and Wendy.

The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Contributions in memory of Scoop should be directed online or by mail to one of the following:
