Michael Henry Kapusta
1957-2012 DORSET Michael Henry Kapusta, 55, a resident of Lower Hollow Road in Dorset, passed away Tuesday October 30, 2012 at Fletcher Allen Medical Center in Burlington.
Michael was born in Rutland, Vt., on September 5, 1957 the son of Henry and Dorothy (Macheski) Kapusta. He received his education in Danby at the Currier Memorial School and was a 1975 graduate Burr and Burton Academy. Michael owned and operated Village Maintenance Service since 1985.
He managed lawn care, snow removal, landscaping and was the property manager at the Fields in Manchester. He was a master of everything who loved life and was a very mentally and physically strong man. Michael loved his toys. He collected antique cars, including a Corvette, Pontiac Lemans, Chevelle, GMC Caballero, a 1971 Electric Car and motorcycles. He also had a 2006 GTO, the last year of the rear wheel drive and called it Glenda's Toy, after his wife. Michael was a true outdoorsman. He loved to ride four wheelers, snowmobiles and drive boats. He loved to hunt and fish and cherished his 1946 Willy's Jeep. He was very meticulous about cleaning his jeep and every spring went jeeping with his Willy's Jeep Club.
Michael is survived by his wife, the former Glenda Coolidge of Dorset, whom he married in Danby, Vermont on January 28, 1985, his son Kevin Michael Kapusta of Manchester, his daughter Sarah Jean Kapusta of Bennington, his grandchildren William Blaine Wildman and Isabella Hope Wildman and many relatives including nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father Henry Kapusta who died in 1997.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A liturgy of Christian death and burial for Michael will be celebrated Saturday November 3, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Christ Our Savior Parish, St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Manchester. Interment will follow in the family lot in Danby-Scottsville Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Friday evening at Brewster Funeral Service 34 Park Place Manchester, Vermont from 6 to 8 p.m. when the family will be in attendance. If friends desire, memorial gifts in Michael's memory may be made to The Dorset Rescue Squad, c/o Brewster Funeral Service P.O. Box 885 Manchester Center, Vermont 05255.
