Roger C. Markey
1935-2014 Roger C. Markey, 78, a resident of The Meadows in Manchester Center, VT died Saturday January 4, 2014 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington. He was born in Island Pond, VT April 1, 1935. He was the son of the late Henry and Anna (Leming) Markey. Roger received his education in Manchester. He married the former Dolores Slavin in Manchester, VT. In earlier years Roger was employed at Mack Molding in Arlington and for several years was employed as a painting contractor. An avid hunter and fisherman, Roger also enjoyed playing golf and was a model builder. In earlier years Roger enjoyed skiing and was a member of the Bromley Ski Patrol. Survivors include two step children, Edward Slavin of Rutland and Deborah Cram and her husband Michael of Rutland. His grandchildren, Tanya Catozzi of Rutland and Lesley Taylor of Rutland. Two step grandchildren, Garrett and Ethan Taylor; a sister Anna Marie Charbonneau of Manchester, VT, a nephew Joseph Charbonneau and his wife Mary Fran of Manchester, VT and two great nephews, Austin and Aiden Charbonneau.
