Stella Frances Pearce

1921-2013 Stella Frances Pearce passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 11, 2013. Stella was born at home in Danby on April 8, 1921 to Wladyslaw and Frances (Karpinski) Kapusta She was a lifelong resident of Danby and had attended the one room schoolhouse near her home. She married Earl Pearce on November 23, 1946 at St. Jerome's Catholic Church in East Dorset. They were married for 51 years before his passing in 1997. Stella enjoyed shopping, traveling Vermont back roads, taking walks with her grandchildren and just being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also a great cook. Most know her for her Lemon Angel food cake that she made for everyone's birthday. However most of all her famous Chocolate Cream Pie. Stella is survived by a son Paul L. Pearce and his wife Mary (Rist) Pearce of Danby, four grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and one great great granchild. Granddaughter Paula Pearce-Stafford and husband Dale Stafford from Wallingford and their family Dale Jr., (great-great granddaughter Kamara), Kent and Hayden Stafford. Grandson Steven Pearce of Danby and wife Rhonda (White) Pearce and their children Samantha and Quinton Pearce. Grandson Richard Pearce of Danby and his wife Sonce (Wagner) Pearce and their family Tyler, Jake, Cassie and Zack. Grandson Daniel Pearce also of Danby and his fiance Greta Coombs and their daughters Aurora and Tierra. A sister in law and dear friend Dorothy Kapusta and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Earl, her parents, her siblings John Kapusta, Eugenia Millard, Frank Kapusta, Henry Kapusta and Raymond Kapusta. In keeping with her wishes there will be no calling hours. FUNERAL NOTICE: The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Wallingford on Wednesday October 16 at 11am. Burial will follow in St. Jerome's Cemetery in East Dorset. Immediately following the committal services there will be a gathering of family and friends in celebration of her life and her final journey to be with her Lord and her loved ones that have gone before her (she so missed) at St. Patrick's parish hall in Wallingford.
