Janet R. Best
MANSFIELD: A woman "in charge" Janet Best knew what was going on in her household. Her family relied on her to keep their world in order. Though it was not easy, Janet ran a tight ship. "There is nothing wrong with tough love as long as the love is unconditional," and Janet's family knew of her love, and respected her deeply for shaping their lives.
Janet Best passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2013 in her home following a battle with lung cancer.
She was born June 7, 1940 in Mansfield to Jack and Irene (Davis) Vesper and graduated from St. Peter's High School.
Though keeping the house and caring for her children occupied most of Janet's time, she worked 13 years at The Hills.
On February 27, 1960 she married James L. Best who passed away May 20, 2012.
Janet enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading. She enjoyed nature, watching the birds, and especially loved dogs including her Great Dane, Woofie. Addicted to crime shows, she bought a scanner to fill the time between her shows.
Surviving are her children Laura Remark, Jim "Bub" Best, Jr., Grant Best and David Best all of Mansfield, grandchildren Ron Remark, Jennifer Remark, and Nick and Rachel Best; brother Jack (Toni) Vesper of Lexington, sister Joan Clevidence of Mansfield.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 5-7 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where the funeral service will be held Friday at 11 am.

Although I only knew her for a short time that was time enough to know what a kind and wonderful person she was and it was a gift to have met her. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I am sorry for your loss.
