Lena Mae Freeman
BELLVILLE: Lena Mae Freeman, age 92, of Bellville passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2013 in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital following a short illness.
She was born May 12, 1920 in Akron, Ohio the daughter of Martin B. and Elizabeth M. (Schwartz) Hummel, and was graduated from Madison High School in 1939.
A lifetime area resident, Lena operated the Crispin Five and Dime Store in Plymouth for 25 years.
Quick witted, Lena will be remembered for her sense of humor and sharp one-liners.
She is survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Mark and Linda Freeman of Lexington, Russell Miller of Crestline, Judy Freeman of Bellville and Judi Freeman of Bellville; a special niece Jodi Squires of Bellville and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Lena was preceded in death by her husband John R. Freeman on July 12, 1995, siblings George, Blanche and Ellen; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Ruth and Gerald Snavely, Helen Miller, Dorothy and Vincent Spencer and Truman Freeman.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at Bellville Cemetery.

Lena was a dear friend to us and she will be missed. She went with us out west in our motor home and we all had a wonderful time. She will be in our hearts forever. Dan and Nora Jackson
