Matthew William "Matt" Schemine
BELLVILLE: Matt Schemine gave his children the most important gift any father could give his children: he loved them immensely and believed in them. He loved camping with his family and attending the kids' athletic events.
Matt passed away Monday, October 1, 2012 in his Bellville home. He was 47.
Born June 3, 1965 in Mansfield, Matt was graduated from Madison High School in 1983. He attended Bowling Green University, and earned his degree in mechanical engineering from North Central State College.
He had worked for years at Empire Detroit Steel, and more recently at Tri R Tooling. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and was active with numerous local clubs and fraternal organizations, most notably Mansfield Liederkranz, where he played on the soccer teams and in the golf leagues.
He is survived by his wife Rebecca "Becky" (King) Schemine, whom he married September 5, 1992; his daughter Erin Schemine and his son Alek Schemine both of Bellville; his parents Edward & Janet (Aughenbaugh) Schemine of Mansfield; brothers and sisters-in-law Edward & Kathy Schemine of Hilliard and Mark & Ashley Schemine of Fort Mill, SC., and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The Schemine family will receive friends Thursday, October 4, 2012 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, and on Friday from 12 noon to 1 p.m. also in the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday at 2 p.m. in Resurrection Parish, 2600 Lexington Avenue, celebrated by the Very Rev. Father Nelson Beaver. Burial will follow in Mansfield Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Matt's memory to Clear Fork Athletic Boosters may be made at the funeral home.
Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve the Schemine family, and private condolences to them may be made online at:www.snyderfuneralhomes.com

What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left this earth so soon, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget
Deepest sympathy to you and the entire Schemine family.
