Doris M. Joiner SHELBY: Doris M. Joiner, age 88, resident of Shelby and former California resident died Saturday, December 20, 2014. Born May 30, 1926 in Waterman, Illinois to Edward, Sr. and Ethel (Clark) Eberly she spent many years in Orange, California before moving to Shelby in 2000. On February 22, 1947 she married, Philip L. Joiner, who preceded her in death in 1985. A homemaker, she was a cafeteria worker while living in California. Doris enjoyed crochet, reading, shopping, baking and collecting dolls. She also enjoyed taking care of children and cherished caring for her great-granddaughter, Suzie Huston, from the time she was born. Doris attended the First Baptist Church in Shelby. Surviving are her two children, Sylvia Allen of Eastvale, CA and Philip Joiner of Orange, CA; 15 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, and other relatives. In addition to her husband; she was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan M. Crain in 2012; one grandson; five sisters and three brothers. Friends may call at the Barkdull Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Graveside services will be held in Fairhaven Memorial Park, Santa Ana, CA. Jones, Ronald  
Ronald L. Jones GALION: Ronald L. Jones, 65, of Galion passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at his residence following a long battle with cancer. He was born November 17, 1949 in Mansfield and was the son of Paul and Evelyn (Prosser) Jones. Ronald was a 1967 graduate of Crestview High School and had worked as a machinist 18 years for the Shiloh Tool and Die Co. and 10 years for Hartman Electric in Mansfield. He was a member of the Shiloh Lodge #544 F&AM, VFW Post #4329 and AMVETS Polk Twp. #1979 both of Galion. Ron loved riding his Harley and enjoyed his '76 Corvette. He was a kind person who just enjoyed being around people. He is survived by his lifetime soulmate, Jamie Needels of Galion; son, Ryan Slaughter of Mt.Vernon; sisters, Paula (Dean) Levingston of Ashland, Barb (Chuck) Obleness of Pataskala and by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a niece, Susan Obleness. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7:00 pm Monday, December 29, 2014 at Snyder Funeral Home Richardson Davis Chapel, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where Masonic services will be held at 7:00 pm by the Galion Lodge #414 F &AM followed by a Memorial service with Pastor Bruce Copley officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to HomeCare Matters and Hospice in care of the funeral home.
