Helen D. Colley MANSFIELD: Helen D. Colley, 86, of Mansfield, Ohio passed into the loving arms of God on May 30, 2016 at Mansfield Memorial Homes. Born June 17, 1929 in Hitchens, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Dewey Hay and Alberta (Caudill) Gollihue. Helen was a lifetime homemaker, and her greatest joy was her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Helen was also an avid animal activist. Helen in survived by her daughter, LaDonna (Philip) Mayer; three grandchildren, Craig (Kimberly) Burkhalter, Blake Burkhalter, and Scott Smith; five great-granddaughters; two great-great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Colley Jr.; her parents; and three sisters, Lorene Cains, Larna Jean Peters, and Phyllis Mae Bailey. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street. Jackson, Robert  
Robert W. Jackson MANSFIELD: Robert W. Jackson, 34, of Mansfield, died May 22, 2016. Born November 21, 1981 in Burlingame, California, he was the son of Paul and Pamela (Riley) Jackson. Having a fun loving heart and a joy to be around, Robert could make your day by just walking into a room and smiling. He was a great father to his boys and loved his family dearly. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Ford Mustangs, and working on anything mechanical with his son, Dillon. Surviving are his sons, Eric Johnson-Jackson and Dillon Jackson; brothers, Paul Jackson, Jr.and Phillip Jackson, both of Ohio; sisters, Kimberly Dunn and Kathaline Neace, both of Kentucky; parents, Pamela and Paul Jackson of Mansfield; grandparents, Joy and Dean Bricker of Mansfield and Juanita and Paul Jackson of Tennessee; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and loving friends. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2016, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Kemle, Martin G. "Marty"  
Martin "Marty" G. Kemle CRESTLINE: Martin G. "Marty" Kemle, 84, Crestline, died Saturday, May 28, 2016 at his home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with Cancer. Marty was born in Crestline, on January 5, 1932 to the late Frederick and Beatrice (Freeland) Kemle. He married Bonnie Lou Saum on November 18, 1956 at the First United Methodist Ch., Crestline and she survives him. Marty and Bonnie would have celebrated their 60 anniversary in November. He was employed by General Motors in Ontario as a Foreman in many Departments until his retirement in 1992 after 35 years. Marty was a 1951 graduate of Crestline H.S., where he played on the football team and was a two time recipient of the Toledo Blade Player at both Guard and Halfback. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and playing the Lottery. He was a member of the VFW Post 2920, Fraternal order of Eagles, Aerie # 859 and American Legion Post 488 all of Crestline. He is also survived by his children, Vicki and Marvin Lash, Crestline, Kathi and Jim Corbin, Crestline, Fred Kemle, Crestline, Barb Kemle-Nelson, Galion, 7 grandchildren, Bonnie Kemle-McKean, Miranda Lash, Heather Davis, Desiree Griefenstine, Rob Nelson, Mallory Lash, Samantha Corbin and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his 8 brothers and sisters. Friends may call Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 2-4 P.M. at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Crestline. Memorial services will be held at 4 P.M. on Thursday, June 2, 2016 with Pastor Bill Lamb officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Harbor Light Hospice in care of the funeral home. Carol King MANSFIELD: Carol King, 81, of Mansfield, died Friday, May 20, 2016 at Country Meadows Care Center. Born December 8, 1934 in Rome, Ohio, she was the daughter of Lincoln W. and Mary (Reed) Bailey. She retired from OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital, formerly Mansfield General, and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She especially loved her cats. She is survived by a son, Lyle T. (Mary) Etzwiler of Gaithersburg, Maryland; a granddaughter, Megan Etzwiler of Gaithersburg, Maryland; a brother, Thomas (Vivian) Bailey of Westerville, Ohio; a sister, Martha Souder of Mansfield; two nieces, Peggy Perry of Butler, Ohio and Pam Robertson of Mansfield; two nephews, Michael Bailey of Dublin, Ohio and Thomas Bailey of Beijing, China; and a great niece, Michelle Dillon of Lexington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra (Tschopp) Etzwiler and a sister, Patty Bailey. Samuel Ward MANSFIELD: Samuel Ward, 85, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2016. He was born to Benjamin Harrison and Mamie (White) Ward on September 20, 1930 in Pike County, Kentucky. Samuel loved to go fishing and travel with his wife. He lived in the Mansfield area since moving here in 1955. He was a member of the #690 Marquis Masonic Lodge and the Baku Grotto. Samuel is survived by his two grandsons, David Ward of Marion, and Jeremy Ward on Mansfield; one granddaughter, Brittany Ward of Dayton; three great-grandchildren, Samantha Ward, Makayla Ward, and Skylar Ward; longtime friend and companion, Bobbi Fox of Ontario; brother, Paul (Shirley) Ward of Mansfield, and many nieces and nephews. Samuel was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 63 years, Betty Ann Ward; son, Ernest H. Ward; five brothers, Bill Ward, James Ward, Tilmon Ward, Daniel Ward, and Kenneth Ward; and six sisters, Marie White, Irene Wells, Lucille Conley, Faye White, Jane Podunvac, and Sharon McDonald. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 10:00 am, also at the Ontario Home. Burial will follow at Mansfield Memorial Park. Gerald E. Wilson MANSFIELD: Gerald E. Wilson, age 73 of Mansfield, died Friday evening May 27, 2016 at Kindred in Mansfield following a long illness. Born August 8, 1942 in Shelby to Cecil and Guthrie (Elliott) Wilson, he had been a Tampa, Florida resident for ten years, returning to Shelby in 1989. Mr. Wilson was employed as a truck driver for F & J Trucking, General Highway Express and was also employed with Gorman Rupp Co. He was a member of the Shelby American Legion O'Brien Post #326 and the Mansfield American Legion and also served with the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War. He is survived by three children; one sister and brother-in-law, Patsy (Wilson) and Roger D. Payne of Ontario; one brother, Ronald (Faye) Wilson of Shelby; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends may call at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday May 31, 2016 from 10:00 AM- 11:00AM. Graveside service will follow after calling hours at Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven. Bartlett, Helen Hasler  
Helen Hasler Bartlett MANSFIELD: Helen Hasler Bartlett of Mansfield, Ohio, age 93, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2016 at her daughter's home in Taos, NM, her hands held by her children and grandchildren. Helen was born in Cresson, Pennsylvania on August 28, 1922. After going to high school at The Grier School, she attended Wellesley College where she graduated with honors in 1944 with a B.A. in Chemistry. Post college, she worked in the polymer lab at DuPont Laboratories in Wilmington, Delaware, where she met her husband, Edward (Ted) Bartlett. From there, they followed Ted's work, living in North Carolina, Pittsburgh, and Buffalo, before finding their home in Mansfield in 1963. Helen had a wide range of friends, interests, hobbies, and talents. She was a passionate bridge player and treasured the time that she played with her friends. She golfed, played tennis, and skied for many years. She traveled the world with Ted, visiting all seven continents and continuing to travel well into her 90s. She was an active member of the community and was a member, board member, or president of many organizations including the Mansfield Symphony, YWCA, Wednesday Study Club, AAUW, The Women's Club, Planned Parenthood and the First Congregational Church. For many years she was a tutor with the Mansfield Public Schools, helping many learning disabled children become successful students. Above all, she was a loving mother and devoted wife who reared her four children with love, wisdom, independence and joy. Her grandchildren were her delight and they adored her in return. Her dog, Benji, was her constant companion. She is survived by all of her children and their spouses: Susan Bartlett (Marc Kaufman), Edward Bartlett (Katharine Goeldner Bartlett), Margaret Bartlett (Todd Wynward) and Andrew Bartlett (Teresa Barickman), and grandchildren Jonathan, Michele, Claire, Lowell, Anna, and Nico. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Edward Bartlett, her sister Sally White, and her parents Harry Humble Hasler and Mary Hughes Hasler. Helen was a passionate, intelligent, sharp, and determined woman who will be greatly missed but always remembered by her family and friends. The family will hold calling hours at 1 pm, and a memorial service at 2 pm, with a reception following, at the First Congregational Church in Mansfield, Ohio, on Sunday, June 26, 2016. Donations may be made in her name to the First Congregational Church, Renaissance Theatre, and Planned Parenthood.
