MANSFIELD: Allen Dale Heimburger, 62, of Madison Township died peacefully Monday night in his Grace Street home after a long illness.

A native of Brooklyn, Ohio, Al had lived in Mansfield since 1981. His elaborate Halloween displays at his Annfield Drive home were legendary, and he was beloved for his unusual and unfailing sense of humor.

He is also survived by his father, Alfred; and siblings, Barbara Heimburger, Ralph and Karen Heimburger, Mark Heimburger and Laureen Gallagher; and nieces and nephews, Amy, Jeanene, Jason, Janelle, Ashley, Kate, and Liz. His close family friends, Nora Knipp and Suzi Blakley also survive him. Preceding him in death were his mother, Eileen (Epp) Heimburger; and his wife, Barbara (Srb) Heimburger.

Al's kindness, happiness, and humor will be missed by hundreds of friends and acquaintances.

Friends and family may visit from 12-1 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2012 in the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Celebrant Mark Dettmer presiding.
