Andrea S. "Sweet Pea" Hopkins
SHELBY: Andrea S. "Sweet Pea"' Hopkins, 46, of Shelby, died Thursday, February 6, 2014 at MedCentral/Shelby Hospital, Shelby after an apparent heart attack.
Andrea was born in Crestline on July 29, 1967. Her father, John & Debbie Croft, Lexington and her mother, Mary E. (Vuich) & Thomas J. Hoffman of Crestline, survive her. She married Larry Hopkins on October 5, 1996 and he survives her.
She resided in Shelby for 17 years coming from Crestline. Andrea was a graduate of Crestline High School Class of 1985 and graduate of the Columbus College of Art & Design. She was an Adjunct Professor of Graphic Design at North Central State College, Mansfield for nine years. She had been a graphic designer for D & S Graphic Design, Mansfield. Andrea was a member of the Crestline Order of Eagles, Aerie #859. Andrea has an undeniable love for animals and was active in animal rescue. She advocated the responsible care of animals by the spaying and neutering of pets. She was a great gardener, with the most beautiful flowers and plants.
She is survived by: her son, Jack N. Hopkins, her beloved pets, Diesel and Brenna, at home, her two step-daughters: Michelle Arcudi, Shelby and Aimee & Jody Ewing, Ontario, her five grandchildren: Emilee Hopkins, Spencer Ferguson, Isaac Ewing, Camille Ferguson, and Mason Ferguson, her great grandson Carter Hopkins, her sister Lori Croft, Gainesville, FL, Lori's sons Zach and Zach, Jr., Alex, and Foster, and her brother Michael Croft, Columbus, her two step-brothers Ty Hoffman and Rita Weiss, Phoenix, AZ and Todd and Laurie Hoffman, Crestline, and their son Luke and Olivia Hoffman, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her nephew Caine Hoffman.
Friends may call Sunday, February 9, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Crestline. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, February 10, 2014 at Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Crestline, with Pastor Diana Seaman officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Crestline.
Memorial contributions may be made to Richland County Humane Society or the Rascal Unit, a mobile veterinary hospital in care of the funeral home.
