Rev. Beatrice R. Morris
MANSFIELD: Rev. Beatrice R. Morris, 88, Senior Pastor of Gods Open Door Church, Mansfield, died Sunday, October 20, 2013 at MedCentral Hospital.
Beatrice was born on October 24, 1924 in Olive Hill, KY to William and Nellie Perry Bailey Adkins. Rev. Morris dedicated her life for the past 50 years to the work of God at the church. She labored there in the Lord's work, where many ministries were sent throughout the world. She inspired many people with her talent of playing music, singing, and preaching.
She is survived by four sons, Moses, Paul, Samuel, and Joseph Kingman; five daughters, Virginia, Priscilla, Wilma, Naomi (Joe), and Esther (Terry); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved and adored; much loved son-in-law Jeffrey B. Smith; and special grandsons, Mark, Michael and Joshua.
Along with her parents, Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband Larkin Morris, two sons, Charles and Virgil Dotterman, Daughter-in-law, Diana K. Kingman; grandson Sgt. Jonothan C. Kingman, who was killed in active duty in Iraq; one brother, William "Billie" Bailey and one sister, Rosie Bailey.
Calling hours will be from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, LTD., 1106 Park Avenue East (St. Rt. 430E), Mansfield. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Bishop Sylvester Ginn Sr. of Hesed Agape Ministries officiating. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery.
