Betty Jean Martin

MANSFIELD: Betty Jean Martin went to be with our Lord on Thursday, December 20, 2012 after a short illness. She died comfortably at her home while being cared for by Kelly (Burdett) Bays and family. Betty was born in Kentucky and lived her life in Mansfield. While working most of her life, Betty also enjoyed Bingo and Euchre at Amvets Post #26, cooking the most delicious cream puffs, and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life for more than 50 years, John K. Martin in 1999 and her youngest daughter, Vicky in 1992. Those closest to her know her as a loving mother, grandmother, and wife.

She is survived by a large family including her daughters, Jeanette and Kathy; and grandchildren, Kelly, Jodi, Traci, David, Terri, Shelly, Elizabeth, Kenny, Shane, and Chucky. She is also survived by thirty great-grandchildren and fifteen great-great grandchildren.

The family will hold a celebration of life at Amvets Post #26 on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. She was very much loved and will be greatly missed. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to assist the family of Mrs. Martin.
