Betty Ellen Reber
ORMOND BEACH, FL: Betty Ellen Reber, 92, of Ormond Beach, Florida, passed away Monday, September 16, 2013 at Bridgeview Center in Florida. She was born February 26, 1921 in Mansfield, Ohio to the late Mae (Weskitt) and John F. Elrod.
In childhood, Betty enjoyed horseback riding at the fairgrounds. She worked at Westinghouse Corp. for 39 years in the Inspection Department. She and her husband, Howard spent many summers camping. They especially enjoyed time on their pontoon boat at Mifflin Lake. Betty enjoyed puzzles, making jewelry and crafting at the Mansfield Hobby Club.
She was a life member of the Women of the Moose
#47, becoming a member at the age of 21, receiving many honors throughout the years. Betty was also a member of White Shrine of Jerusalem #10 and Order of the Eastern Star, Ruth Chapter #17.
Betty is survived by a son, J. Steve (Vickie) Reber of Bunnell, FL; two grandchildren, Stefanie (Brian) Crisp of Palm Coast, FL and Brian (Laura) Reber of Beaver Creek, OH; three great-grandchildren, Hanna and Connor Crisp and Dominic Reber; two sisters-in-law, Pearl "Toni" Elrod and Marie Giesige; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; and brothers, Harold and Ralph.
The family will receive friends Thursday, September 19, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. in the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bonnie Peltomaa officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Moose Charities.
