LEXINGTON: "The true test of a person's character is how they stand during test of adversity." Diagnosed with lung cancer, Cindy Ruge chose to fight, facing her illness with courage and strength. She passed away early Sunday morning, June 23, 2013 at her Lexington home. She was 42.

She was born March 26, 1971 in Mansfield to parents William and Julie (Walters) Gibson. She attended Madison High School.

She loved spending time with family, boating at Put-In-Bay or Port Clinton, and designing flower beds. She also enjoyed taking photographs and playing with her Chihuahua Hershey. Cindy simply loved the beach, and spent her most memorable vacation in Hawaii.

Cindy was a member of Southside Christian Church in Mansfield (where she often prepared communion) and the Moose Lodge of Lexington.
