Dennis F. "Zeke" Czado

LEXINGTON: Zeke Czado was an avid rocker. No, he didn't jam to rock music; he loved passing the time in his favorite rocking chair. His kids and grandkids knew if they sat in dad's chair they would get the boot when he walked in the room. He insisted a collapsible rocker be taken on family vacations because even when Zeke was sitting down he liked to keep moving.

On Friday morning, December 7, 2012 Dennis Frank "Zeke" Czado passed away in his home following a short illness. He was 70.

Born November 8, 1942 in Hamtramck, MI the son of Thomas W. and Mary A. (Czajkowski) Czado, Zeke was graduated from Pershing High School class of 1961 in Detroit. On September 10, 1966 he married Carol Ann Bartoles.

Working at General Motors as a machine operator, Zeke retired in July of 2005 after 41 years of service. He was an avid fan of Rhythm & Blues music and in his younger days enjoyed drag racing. Zeke was a member of the Filthy Few Racing Team, the Elks Club in Lexington, and United Auto Workers #549.

He is survived by his sons Thomas S. Czado of Mansfield, David A. Czado of Mansfield, and Robert K. (Mary) Czado of Marion, IN; and grandchildren Joshua, Alexandria, Sophia and Johnathan and Denise Czado.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Carol.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Dennis will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. The Very Reverend Father Nelson Beaver will officiate.

Contributions in Zeke's memory to the Lexington Senior Civic Center may be made at the funeral home.
