Denzil L. "Denny" Hunt
MANSFIELD: Denzil L. "Denny" Hunt, age 83, of Mansfield, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Hospice House in Ashland.
He was born May 13, 1930 to the late Earl and Daultie (Corrick) Hunt in Philippi, West Virginia.
He graduated in 1948 from Philippi High School. Denny retired from General Motors
after 32 years as a Tool and Die maker. He was a member of the United Auto Workers, Local #549. Denny served as a Madison Township Trustee for three terms. After retiring from G.M., he served as a bailiff for Judge Jeff Payton for 10 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #151 of Ashland, F.&A.M. Ashland, OH. Denny was an active member of St. John's United Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Darline (Parrott) Hunt; one son, Lee Hunt of Ashland; two step-daughters, Suzanne (Carver) and Nicholas Musashe of Winter Park, FL and Joline (Carver) and Mark O'Brien of Wadsworth; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Richard Hunt; a stepson, Jack Carver; one sister, Emma Jean Mackey; and one brother, Robert Hunt.
In keeping with his wishes, Denny will be cremated and a private graveside service will be held at a later date at Windsor Park Cemetery, Mansfield, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Richland County or Hospice of North Central Ohio.
