Donald L. Clutter

MANSFIELD: Donald L. Clutter, age 73, died late Thursday evening, March 14, 2013 at MedCentral Shelby Hospital. He was born September 29, 1939 in Crestline, Ohio to the late Robert and Ruth (Kimes) Clutter. He graduated from Crestline High School where he is a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame. Don was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from the railroad as an engineer after more than 40 years of service. After his retirement, he enjoyed following politics, golfing, watching NASCAR and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns fan.

He is survived by his wife, Joanna (Grimm) Clutter; four children, Karen (Loren) Wendland and Linda (Ron) Spangler, both of Galion, Sandy (Charlie) Daniels of Bucyrus and Johnny Champion of FL; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Tom (Barb) Clutter of Crestline and Joe Sutter of Mansfield; one sister, Sue (Steve) Shiplett of Ontario; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Patty Nichols.

A private family burial will be held in Mansfield Memorial Park. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family of Mr. Clutter.
