Donald W. Pratt

MANSFIELD: Donald W. Pratt passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. Donald was born November 20, 1926 in Radnor, West Virginia to the late Fred and Grace Hampton Pratt. Donald retired from the Bissman Company after 29 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Julie Doss Pratt; children, Rhonda Shears, Gregory (Sherry) Pratt and Gary Pratt; grandchildren, Mark (Debbie) Shears, Charmmy (Mikey) Penney, Gesica (Dusty) Webb, Julee (Ashton) Pratt Taylor and Ryan (Mel) Pratt; and great-grandchildren, Morgan Shears, Michael and Caylynn Penny, Bailey and Blake Webb, Ashton and Alyvia Taylor, all of Mansfield. He is also survived by a brother, Ralph Pratt of Huntington, WV; sisters, Dorothy Ross of Genoa, WV, Betty Hollis of Huntington, WV, Lois Cremeans of St. Albans, WV and Patty King of Louisa, KY; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Fred Pratt, Jr. and Willis "Pete" Pratt; and two sisters, Bertha Gibson and Racine Emery.

Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2014 in the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. The funeral service will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Mark Barth officiating. Burial will follow in Windsor Cemetery with military honors presented by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail.
