SHELBY: Doris A. Ginter, age 74, resident of Shelby died unexpectedly Friday, February 8, 2013 in MedCentral/Shelby Hospital.

Born May 31, 1938 in Ashland, Ohio to Kenneth and Geraldine (Reynolds) Burns she had been a Shelby area resident the majority of her life. A homemaker, Doris worked at the Shelby Spring Hinge and Hi-Stat in Lexington. She attended the Dean Rd. Freewill Baptist Church in Mansfield and was a former member of TOPS.

Doris loved to read, crochet and play computer games and enjoyed watching westerns, old movies and drinking Pepsi. Above all, her grandchildren were her greatest joy.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Millard Ginter, whom she wed July 26, 1958; three daughters, Brenda Baker of Shelby, Melinda (Carl) Hoskins of Mansfield, and Geri (Earl) Lynch of Shelby; seven grandchildren, Mike (Cindy) Ginter, Kimberly Fikes, Anita (Doug) Russel, Sabrina Hoskins, Timothy Hoskins, Cassie Lynch and Nicholas Lynch; five great grandchildren, Kila, Dakoda, Joseph, Luke and Kiara; one brother, Ronald Burns of Ashland, sister-in-law, Marie Burns of Ashland, nieces, nephews and many special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four siblings, Kenneth, Jr. (Delores) Burns, Barbara (Basil) Ray, Danny (Rose) Burns, Robert Burns and sister-in-law, Bonita Burns.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby. Reverend Earl Tackett will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
