Dwight F. Bowman
MANSFIELD: Dwight F. Bowman died Sunday, November 4, 2012, in his Bellville home, surrounded by his family.
He was born near Perrysville on October 25, 1932 to Winfield Scott and Gladys Bowman. He just recently turned 80. Dwight was just nine years old when his mother died, and he lived with various relatives until he found a loving home with Carol and Lois Oyster near Bellville. Dwight completed his junior year at Bellville High School, then became a moulder at Ohio Brass Mansfield from 1950 -1963. During that time he was in the service (1952-1954) with the 121st Airborn in Germany, where he worked as a courier from Frankfort to Manheim. Dwight was owner and CEO of BiCounty Construction for over 45 years with the help from his sons.
On January 7, 1956, he married Marilyn McConachie and together they raised five children, Biff (Vicki), Kip (Violet), Ginger (deceased), Gil (Tari) and Rod. Their 12 grandchildren are, Heath (Joey), Thor, Chad, Niki (Jay Vail), Lydia, Matthew, Tara (Levi Oswalt), Tyler (Charla), Ben, Grace, Nathaniel and Sloan. Their 11 great-grandchildren are Audrey (deceased), Sierra, Mikayla, Trey, Eric, Seth, Kailyn, Logan, Brandon, Natalie and Makenzie.
A celebration of Dwight's life will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2012. At 6:30 p.m. in Clearfork Church of the Brethren (between Bellville-Butler on St. Rt. 97) with fellowship following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gideons.
