Edward Earl Naumann
MANSFIELD: Edward Earl Naumann, 66, of Mansfield, died peacefully surrounded by his loved ones Saturday, May 18, 2013 at his home. Born July 4, 1946 in Mansfield, he was the son of Frank and Eva (Kirschenheiter) Naumann. He was a veteran of the United States Army
serving during the Vietnam War
. After 40 years in the trucking industry, he retired from Dayton Freight. Following his retirement, he took great pride in various building projects and also worked at Crystal Care Center. Ed was a member and past President of the Sons of Herman, member and past President of the North Central Ohio Traffic Club, member of the Moose Lodge and was a Union Steward for the Teamsters. He was a Cub Scout Leader and had coached girls softball and boys baseball. Ed enjoyed fishing, bowling, golfing, watching races at Mid-Ohio and was a fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a world traveler having been to 17 European countries. His other favorite destinations were Canada, the Caribbean, Australia and the Florida Keys. Ed loved to vacation anywhere there was water, as he loved sitting and watching the waves.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Wagner) Naumann whom he married September 14, 1993; children, Dr. Mark (Peggy) Cockley, Karen Pappas, Michelle (Jim) Dimmerling, Michael (Cindy) Naumann and Becca (Dan) Meginnis; grandchildren, Jessica (Zack), Kacie, Brett, Trey, Wyatt and Ty; great granddaughters, Layla and Zoey; many nieces and nephews; his dear extended family, Sherry and Gary Holbrook and Jerry, Susan and Harold Smith; and six sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a special aunt, Annie Hubert; and his father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Marjorie Wagner.
Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Clay Memorial Lutheran Church, 1061 Amoy East Road, Mansfield, Ohio 44903 with a reception for family and friends following the service.
