ASHLAND: Ethel Parker, 96, of Ashland, died Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at her home, Crystal Care Center in Ashland. Born September 9, 1916 in Reeder, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Link and Mona (Dehart) Binion. She attended Mansfield Beauty College and worked as a hairdresser at Marian's Beauty Shop in Mansfield. She met and married Arnold Parker on February 13, 1958, moving to Rhode Island where she retired from Mine Safety Appliances Company. Ethel enjoyed traveling, horse races and just being around her family.
She is survived by three sisters, Maxine Reynolds of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Lois (Herbert) Prichard of Grayson, Kentucky and Sonja (Hobert) Dean of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one brother, Bobby Joe (Delorse) Bond of Bellville, Ohio; her care-giver and niece, Pam (Doug) Noblet of Bellville, Ohio; and many, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Parker; her father and mother, Ike and Mona Binion (Dehart Bond); brothers, Edgar, Virgil, Rudolph, Harrison, Jr., Alton, Leroy and Jerry; sisters, Isabeli, Tressie, Katherine, Dessie and Marian.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 8, 2013 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario conducted by her nephew, Raymond Bond. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m., at the funeral home on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideon's International.
