MANSFIELD: Fay Welch, 85, of Mansfield, died Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Kindred Hospital. Born October 30, 1927 in Pliny, West Virginia she was the daughter of Talferd and Mae (McCoy) Fellure. She was employed at Howard Johnsons as a waitress for over 20 years and loved gardening and cooking and according to her family, she was the best cook in the world. The cement of her family, she would do anything for her family and her greatest joy was when she was around them.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Arleigh Welch; a daughter, Arlene (Roger) Kilgore; two sons, Mike (Shirley) Welch and Sam Welch; a sister, Ruth (Dick) Phillips; three brothers, Bill (Verlene) Fellure, Jack (Cathy) Fellure and Erwin (Lilly) Fellure; eight grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter, Ava Fay; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Jimmy, Fred and Doug Fellure; a sister, Lucille; and her grandmother, Bertha Duncan.
Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2012 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2012 at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Doug Tackett. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
