George W. Wolfe

GALION: George W. Wolfe, 71, of Galion, went to be with the Lord April 14, 2014. Born December 21, 1942 in Waynesburg, PA, he was the son of Clarence W. and Lois (Hess) Wolfe.

A true outdoorsman, George loved fishing and hunting. He was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and also enjoyed NASCAR with Jimmy Johnson being his favorite driver. Above all else, George loved spending time with his family. He was a member of Galion Unity Freewill Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Sharon Wolfe, whom he married August 13, 1965; sons, George W. Wolfe, Jr., Richard J. (Lisa) Wolfe, and Bill W. (Chris) Wolfe, all of Galion; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

George was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael R. Wolfe; and four brothers.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Rd., Ontario. Funeral services, conducted by Pastor David Bates, will be held Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
