Ira K. Madden
MANSFIELD: Ira K. Madden, age 95, passed away early Friday morning, December 28, 2012 at his home. Born December 22, 1917 in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Ralph and Kate (Franklin) Madden. Ira retired from the U.S. Army
and then worked as an accountant for several local businesses. He enjoyed gardening and traveling in his spare time.
Ira is survived by his wife, Roberta Becker Madden; son, Steven (Janet) Madden of Houston, TX; daughter, Nancy (Noel) Stevens of Mansfield and Pompano Beach, FL; grandchildren, Rob (Christine) Stevens of Columbus, Troy (Amy) Stevens of Bexley, Kathryn (Shawn) Likley of Columbus, Benjamin Madden, David (Catherine) Madden and Cameron Madden, all of Mansfield; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Tanner, Ella and Nina Stevens, Isaac and Willem Likley; and caregivers, Vanessa, Linda, Debbie and Vickie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Mary Elizabeth Sammons Madden and a sister, Marjorie.
Family and friends may visit from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2012 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. The Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail will present military honors immediately following the service. Burial will follow in Zehner Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to MedCentral Hospice.
