James Edward Cooley
SHILOH: James Edward Cooley, age 56 of Shiloh and formerly of Olive Hill, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord on December 23, 2012 at Cleveland Clinic. James was born on December 1, 1956 in Olive Hill, Kentucky. He is the son of the late Rev. Ora and Mable Davis Cooley. James was a member of Dean Road Freewill Baptist Church and thoroughly enjoyed his fellowship with other church friends. James enjoyed playing his guitar and singing, he also enjoyed working in his yard and garden, but what he loved most was being with his family and friends. He also made lifelong friends with several families of the Mennonite community.
James is survived by his wife of 35 years, Letha Clay Cooley; two daughters, Leslie Cooley (Jeremy) Robinett of Shiloh, OH and Jamie Cooley of Mansfield, OH; five grandchildren, Tori, Natalie, Whitley, Gage and Piper, whom he loved and cherished; and five sisters, Sue (Marlin) Oakley, Sarah (Everett) Stamper, Jewell Cooley and Dina McGuire, all of Olive Hill, KY and Christine (Gary) Robertson of Perrysville. He also leaves a host of nieces and nephews who will miss their uncle, along with many other family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Hearl Clay; three brothers, William, Thomas and Ira Cooley; one sister, Bernice Kiser; one niece, Kimberly Kiser Barker; and one nephew, James Liles.
Friends and family may visit from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Shiloh. Online guest registry at www.wappner.com
