Jesse P. Tabor

SHELBY: Jesse P. Tabor, age 27, resident of Shiloh and longtime Shelby resident, died Saturday, December 17, 2011, in MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital following a courageous battle with Acute T-Cell Leukemia.

He was born February 8, 1984 in Mansfield, the son of Dan and Linda (Mitchell) Tabor who reside in Shelby. A 2002 graduate of Shelby Sr. High School, he attended Hocking College. Jesse was employed five years with First Energy as a line serviceman.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, boating, trap shooting, snow mobiling, and four-wheeling. He also enjoyed hanging out with his friends.

Jesse was a member of the Trap Shooters, Richland County Coon Hunters, Plymouth Legion, TJ's Hotel and IBEW Local #1194.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Jessica (Kurtz) Tabor, whom he married April 25, 2009; his son, Clayton William Tabor, who is due to be born on January 17, 2012; his brother, Aaron Tabor of Mansfield; grandparents, Wylie and Juanita Tabor of Mansfield, Terry Richmond of Mansfield, and Bob and Pat Mitchell of Greenwich; his mother-in-law, Vanessa Kurtz and grandmother-in-law, Georgia Fagan, both of Shelby; his many loving friends, Ryan and Jacquie Francis, Doug Bisel, Lyndsey, Logan, Eric and Melissa Bartley, Mark McClure, Tracie Addair, Ryan and Tiff Click, Ryan Rook, Stephanie Robles, Jason and Amanda Secrist, Justin Manns, Matt and Jenny Blankenship, Jeremiah Bauer, Steve and Todd Arnold, Nate Ganzhorn, Larry Snyder, Blade Lybarger, John Ulery, Albert Byler, Doug Noblet, Justin and Michelle Dean, Buck, Jhan Lambert, Dr. Dewald and his nursing staff, and MedCentral nurses on 4 West A.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Wylie Tabor in 1980, his grandmother, Wanda Richmond, and his grandfather-in-law, Leonard Fagan.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby. Reverend Rick Pelfrey will officiate with interment in Shenandoah Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorial expressions may be made to the Tabor family for his son, Clayton.
