Joanne Rose Altman Wolf

MANSFIELD: Joanne Rose Altman Wolf, age 83, passed away Monday, January 21, 2013 at Hospice of North Central Ohio. Born October 9, 1929 in Richland County, she was the daughter of the late Ray David and Sarah (Rupert) Altman. Known to many as "Mama Jo", Joanne was loved and gave love so freely. Nothing made her happier than to help someone in need. Her wisdom and sense of humor were a constant source of encouragement to others. Joanne was a member of Mansfield Church of God for more than 60 years. Her leadership and organizational skills were put to use in many capacities within the church including youth leader, ladies ministries President, church pianist and secretary. The person who will miss her most is her husband, Raymond, whom she worked alongside with throughout their marriage as owners of Wolf Plumbing and Heating and R.C. Wolf Builders. She and Raymond labored together in helping to fund missions work all over the world for the Church of God, based in Cleveland, Tennessee. She will be deeply missed and forever loved by her family and many friends.

She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Raymond C. Wolf; children, Carolyn (Ken) Holmquist of Hixson, TN and David R. (Joyce) Wolf of Mansfield; grandchildren, Neil (Laura) Hamilton, Troy (Angie) Hamilton, Matt (Brittney) Hamilton, all of TN, Rev. Jeffrey D. (Beth) Wolf of Milford, OH, Jodi (Rev. Christopher) Rouse of Cleveland, TN; great-grandchildren, Austin, Trevin, Hannah, Addison, Oliver, Clark and Adra Hamilton, Kyelei and Seth Ryan Wolf; siblings, Elinore Cunning, Jean (Robert) Liston and Marion (Jo) Altman; special brother-in-law, Vergil (Sharon) Wolf; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of special friends and church family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Rev. Ray Altman and Dwight Altman; a sister, Frances Mitchell; two grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Wolf and Ryan Patrick Wolf; and a great-grandchild, Kailei Elizabeth Wolf.

Friends and family may visit from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. A celebration of Joanne's life will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Mansfield Church of God, 1425 N. Stewart Road. Her grandson, Rev. Jeffrey D. Wolf, and Rev. Chelsey Noel will conduct the service assisted by Joanne's pastor, Rev. Samuel Wright. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International or Church of God World Missions.
